Get your bichon used to grooming as soon as possible, using basic tools such as pin brush, de-matting comb or slicker brush. You can give her baths no more than once a week. Professional clipping and trimming would be needed every 2-3 months as she grow into her adult coat.

The best thing to do is brush her daily and bath about once per month. It is easiest to brush daily and bring the dog to a professional groomer. There are different style cuts for these dogs and a groomer can help choose one.

Bichon's fur needs to be brushed often. It becomes matted easily. Bichons should not be shaved, but should be scissor cut. Their head should be cut to appear rounded.

A Bichon requires regular grooming which should include daily brushing, a trim to the coat every 6-8 weeks, and a bath in between grooming visits. The hair of the Bichon can become quite matted and unruly if not groomed on a regular basis. Prepare to spend an hour to two hours on the grooming process.

Bichons require one of the most intensive scissor cuts if you're grooming them to breed standard. I would suggest bringing your dog to the groomer every 4-6 weeks. In the interim go ahead and brush your dog every day to keep him knot free.

The first thing you need to do is see how well she accepts grooming then you should contact someone with experiance in grooming that breed because they are all done differently. The best thing to do is find out who the prior groomer was and call and talk to them.
