You'll need a few things, a set of sturdy sockets as well as the exact watt and size of bulb for your headlight, this can be found by consulting your car's user manual. you'll need to remove the front headlight glass which can be done by hand, and then simply replace them. Disconnect the battery first.

To change a headlight, pop the hood open, Open your broken headlight and take it out. Then place your new headlight of the same model as your broken one and plug it in.

I don't have an equinox but all cars are similar. First open the hood. Look on the inside under hood. Loosen screws on the headlight from the inside. screws or snaps will be holding it on inside. Remove screws and simply pull out the headlight. It sounds easier than it is. Disconnect headlight and put new one on.

After locating it under the hood remove the wiring harness from it carefully. Twist the hold down to remove it. Put new light in, replace hold down and wiring harness.

When you buy a new headlight, you'll get the entire housing unit with the bulb inside. You change out the housing unit from behind, from under the hood.

Open hood, disconnect battery. Look inside under hood to unloosen screws on headlight from the inside. The screws and scraps are holding it in the inside. unscrew screws and easily pull out the headlight. Disconnect old headlight and put new headlight in. Be careful removing wiring harness. Get sturdy sockets, exact watt and size of bulb for your headlight.
