How do I get rid of eyelash mites?

You really can't get rid of eyelash mites permanently. They are natural and everybody has them. If a person is allergic to them, however, they can cause red, itching and flakiness to the eyelids. This is called blepharitis. Wash the eyelid margin twice a day with a diluted solution of baby shampoo and the problem should go away.

Eyelash mites are tiny parasitic that live in the hair follicles of everyone roots of the eye lash, another name is called demodex. The optometrist that I work for would perscribe an antibiotic treatment, also a weekly eye lid scrub with baby shampoo and rinse with hot water for was long as 6 weeks.

You can wash your face with tea tree oil diluted in macadamia oil every day and this will eradicate them and the eggs. If you do this once a week forever you will never get them again.

For chronic problems, your doctor can prescribe you a antibotic. Mites are also sometimes cured by using tea tree oil and doing a weekly eyelid scrub with it.

just washing your face with tea tree oil can dry and irritate the skin, i use Eyes n Mites lotion, it helps a lot, finaly can sleep at night
