You can lube up the cylinder with either a graphite, silicone or a lithium based lube and let it sit for a few hours. Stay away from petroleum based lubes like WD-40 or PB-blaster as they will help for a quick fix but do damage over time. After slide your key in and out a few times before turning.

Make sure the transmission is in park. Set the parking brake. Remove the parking brake and put transmission in neutral. Slightly rock the vehicle slightly. Now turn the wheel.

It is better to apply a small amount of graphite moly lube to the key and run the key a few more time. Always clean it after use. Also you can lift the shift lock override button by a small iron piece, that wood release the key

Well first I always start with tapping around the ignition. To try to lossen up the slides. Then I always take the steering wheel and wiggle it back and forth while turning the ignition. And when that does not work I proceed to drive to the auto part store and buy a new ignition.

You will need to take it to a volvo dealership. The c70 is a very nice automobile and not to be tampered with, you may try spraying lightly with wd-40, but thats all i would do.

A common problem is the cable that goes from the shifter to the ignition gets stuck. Remove the center console and clean the shifter, the arm that pulls on the cable, and the cable itself. This should do it. Be careful not to spill anything on the console anymore.

If your are wanting to fix the ignition switch that has been stuck your will need to try to get it unstuck first. Once you have done that you can check for other damage.

This just means that your steering wheel is locked. Your car has a steering lock that clicks into place when you take your key out of the ignition. Do not try to force your key to turn. All you have to do is the turn the wheel in either direction.
