How do I fix a recoil starter spring?

Untie and remove the handle/pullcord from the spool. Remove the spring and the broken end piece Grind/file a new shape in the spring end to fit the spool. Reassemble spool and spring then wind the spring 4-7 turns, stopping when the cord hole is closest to the cord feed. Secure with a C-clamp. Rethread the pullcord and retie.

Rewind your recoil starter spring by using a easy coil. It works well in the clockwise position. Tighten the handle so it doesn't unscrew or apply thread locker.

first cover your eyes and wear a gloves,place the outer eye (the one without the bend) of the spring,then coil the new straight into recess,using the plies connect the pin on the sheve of the housing,keep the eye on the inside of the spring,then replace the housing. these are the simple steps
