High amp draw on a compressor is due to about 3 problems. Dirty condensor, high heat load, or potential compressor failure. Knowledgeable technicians will need to troubleshoot.
Assuming that you are using a standard ac unit pop open the back panel that conceals the performance dash electrical board. If the meter is running, high or in the read you've got a high amp current problem.
If you are having this type of problem then you will need to buy another compressor. Once the new one has been put in then everything should be fine and work right.
