I personally think Akai plasma Tvs stack up to more popular brands because they don't cost much and they are good quality.

They are so popular because they are engineered from the most advanced technology, it experiences the most vivid and virtual picture, it also has the best sound quality.

Akai TV's are pretty much as reliable as Sharp TVs. They Generally deliver on all claims. The only problem however, with Akai TVs is the Warranty support. Always check the warranty from where you get the TV.

An Akai plasma television is awesome. They stand up to the others and even lack some of the bigger name's short comings. Also they don't break as often as other plasmas which are a Godsend in this economy. They also ship on time if you order directly from them which make them number one to me!

Akai is not much of a great company compared to Sony. Sony is the best company out there for television systems.
