Women often used light moisturizer, concealer for dark circles or blemishes (if needed), liquid or cream foundation, loose or pressed powder, blush, eyeliner, eyeshadow (or shadows, for shading effects), mascara, and then finally lipstick or lip gloss. For this fully made-up look, we went "whole hog" back in the day!

Makeup application in the 80s was not that different from the way that it's applied now except that women wore a lot more of it. Bright, flashy lipstick, bright pink blush and dark, drastic eyeliner were all the rage so most women applied an extreme amount of makeup. "Less is more" didn't seem to be as popular back then.
