Star Jones, born Starlet Marie Jones, is an American lawyer who first gained notoriety as a commentator on Court TV during the trial of William Kennedy Smith. She went on to serve as a legal correspondent for NBC's Today show and the Nightly News. She had her own television show, Jones & Jury, before joining the View in 1997.

She did considerable TV before the View. She had her own show called "Jones & Jury" on NBC. The show was cancelled after one year. Then she joined "Inside Edition".

Starr Jones was a well know lawyer before she came to the view. She did some reporting on trials and out in California. She got noticed and this lead to other gigs.
