McCain retired from the U.S. Navy and went into politics. He married second wife Cindy Hensley, whose family has money. While the two kept their finances separate, and while there is a prenuptial agreement to protect the Hensley's assets, and while they file separate tax returns, McCain has a comfortable life.

From being in the military and being a politician has certainly helped him make a lot of money. He is paid well as a Senator and still gets money from his military service in the past. Where most of his money comes from though, is his wife, who's father started Hensley & Co. A large Beer Wholesaler for Anheuser-Busch.

HIs wife's family owns Annheiser-Busch, the beer company. Family inheritANCE and his wife, she owns a beer company and she makes millions of dollars.
