Although no one can know for certain, in most portrayals, John the Baptist has long hair and a beard, very similar to Jesus.

From Early Christian times, John the Baptist has been portrayed in artwork as having long hair, as opposed to the shorter haircuts usually depicted on the apostles. This is because he was a Nazarite, as indicated in Luke 1:15. Nazarites take on vows which include not cutting their hair.

According to biblical accounts John the Baptist was Jesus's cousin and looked very similar. I would suggest long brown lightly curly hair and beard to fit the westernized image of the famous Christian figures even though anthropological evidence suggests more curly haired darker skinned Arab appearance of most of the subjects of the bible for the sake of familiarity.

John the Baptist, according to Luke 1:13, was raised a Nazarite in accordance with the Old Testament regulations found in Numbers 6. A Nazarite would've kept their hair long.
