the only way to charge a battery on a car is with battery charger made for a car battery unless the car starts then u can charge the battery by letting the car idle for ten minutes or so to get a charge and only works if alternator is good

Well to fully charge a car battery out of a car you need a automotive battery charger. This device will supply a steady current of 12v to charge the battery. Follow the manufacturers directions when doing so. Then depending on how dead it is it will be fully charged in a few hours.
