How can I tell what size engine oil seal to get for my lawn mower?

You can either check the part number on the seal, as most of them will have it right on the part. If it does not have a number on it, you can measure it, and they are also sold by dimensions.

This is not to be treated lightly. Too big will cause undue stress. Too small will bruise an ego. One size up from the old seal should do the trick

in the users manual there should be serial numbers the dealer can use those to tell you what size seal should fit your engine if you cant find this most dealers should beable to tell you from the engine size
