How can I save the foundation of my house from being broken by oak tree roots?

There really is not anything you can do to stop from growing. The only solution is to cut the tree down.

Stump grinders can be rented at your local equipment rental store.From the foundation outward to the tree all around foundation in question,use grinder to severe roots that are threatening close to foundation,once severed removal is optional because the growth has been deterred for several years.Do not get within a 3 foot radius of oak tree trunk.

You must kill the oak tree it will wreck the foundations dig it up and put weed killer down do it as soon as possible.

It may be that the only way to solve this proble is to eliminate the tree. Trimming roots might help for a while, but eventually, other roots would take over.
