"Shotgun weddings" are not planned; that's why they are called "shotgun weddings." The implication is that the father of a suddenly pregnant daughter goes after the baby daddy with a shotgun, thus forcing the wedding without notice and planning.

To plan for a shotgun wedding you'd have to be pregnant or rushed to get married. After that I would suggest just doing it all very quickly, perhaps an elopement.

Well, the tricky thing is the marriage license, what with all this fuss over freely given consent and all. Lots of liquor helps. As do shotguns.

If by shotgun wedding you mean a quick and immediate wedding more commonly known as elopement, simply invite anyone whom you wish to be present to your local courthouse and be married be a justice of the peace on the spot. Or, may I suggest Vegas, always a good idea.

It is hard to plan a shot gun wedding, because most places need an advanced notice. You can call to find out if there was any last cancellations, or you can always go to Vegas!

Call your local town office and determine what hours you can go in an obtain a wedding license. In some states there is a brief waiting period before you can be married. The town officials can also let you know when a judge is available to marry you. Or you could always get on a plane to Vegas!

The point to a shotgun wedding is not really to have much planning involved. Basically you and your fiance just need to sit down and have a chat about where you want to have the shotgun wedding. Most of the time family and friends aren't even invited, so keep that in mind.

Look at online websites and get a checklist. Order flowers from a local florist and be sure they get there on time. Many bridal stores have dresses redily availible.
