How can I identify vines with fruit?

There should be books on trying to identify vines with fruits. You could look it up online also to try and identify the plant. Or go to a book store and ask if they have books on trying to identify what plant is what, hope this helps you out. Or go to a plant store and see if that helps.

There are many on-line botanical websites that can help you identify fruit-bearing vines. You may also find many excellent books at a good quality bookstore or Amazon. You need to be sure that you have identified a fruit as edible beyond a shadow of a doubt before you eat it.

Please Identify this vine growing up & around a tree in the woods in the NW. The vine has an (approx. 2 1/2 in length and 2in wide) oval shaped green fruit with dr green stripes with spikes scattered around the top 2/3s.

Med green vine growing up and around a tree in the woods in the NW. The oval fruit are about 2 1/2 in long 2 in wide with dk green lines running through a lighter green . It has short spikes all around the top 2/3rds of it.

Generally people use fruits like grapes apple etc. for vines. For a good vine the smell will be very good and you can identify the fruit with its wonderful smell. grapevine is red in colour and it tastes very nice. taste also help you to identify the fruit. okey.

I found a melon looking fruit that is about 2 feet long and about 6-8 " round and looks like melon on outside
