Look up the standard American Sign Language signs for things you want your puppy to know: sit, stay, food, come, etc. Use these consistently everytime you communicate with your puppy. Use light flashing to signal your puppy and stomping your heel on the floor to get your puppy's attention.

For hearing dogs, clicker training works really well in shaping behavior. You can use a small flashlight and have the dog associate the flashing of the light with a reward.

Get on your puppy's good side with treats and petting and smiles. Make sure the pup is checking in with you. Use consistent hand signals and rewards.
