You could take your penny to a local coin dealer and ask for a valuation. Or your local library probably has a book about the values of collectible coins.

Usually pennies from this age range that have been in circulation will be worn a good bit. From my research the penny should be worth approximately 5-10 cents depending of course on its condition.
