nsopw.gov Search by the offenders name, or by geographical region (the Indian Country option is for searching Native American Reservations). Results show offender name and address. Click the name to see picture and crime details. Its a misconception that they're all child molesters. The majority committed crimes against adults.

You can access the National Sex Offender Registry online by accessing your police department's home page. Every police department is obligated to direct you to the access of the board as long as your intentions are for informational purposes only. You can also go directly to the police station in person and access it.
