Have you ever heard of flying roaches?

I was told they have some in Florida.

Sure do! Adult American Cockroaches have wings that help them fly a small distance at a time. Smoky Brown and Woods Cockroaches also fly. All three varieties are common in Florida.

Yes, the Asian Cockroach is indeed a common resident of the the Florida Panhandle. This cockroach can not only fly, but is attracted to bright lights at night.

Florida does have some varieties of roaches that they can call their own! The Australian, Cuban, and Asian varieties do fly and do not look like the usual roaches.

Yes. I have also seen them fly. It generally tends to be the larger ones, and once they are sprayed with bug spray or slapped at with a broom or other long item, they fly away from that area.
