Question by  Tunce (1)

Does the bronze bore attack the Black Walnut tree?

What can you do about it?

Answer by  SpaceMunkee (245)

It does not. The bronze borer only attacks birch trees. You don't need to do anything. You might have a different parasite.

The bronze birch borer does not attack black walnut trees. There are other borers that will attack very stressed black walnut trees, however. The best way to keep borers away is to keep your trees healthy. Water during establishment, prune during the winter or very early in the spring (before budbreak). Mulch to keep roots moist.
