Question by  Ghostbox (23)

Does drinking with a straw really make you drunk faster?

Answer by  choctaw (361)

No. You may feel lightheaded after drinking alcohol through a straw from lack of oxygen but how drunk you get depends on the amount of alcohol consumed.

No, your alcohol consumption rate and amount of alcohol consumed compared to your weight is what really matters. It doesn't matter how you drink it.

The straw itself would have no properties that would make you get drunk faster. The straw might make it easier for you to consume alcohol faster, though.

Drinking out of a straw is a slower but less messy option. Gulping straight out of a cup or bottle is faster.

Answer by  RaesDad (11)

It depends on the size of your straw.... in order to ensure maximum intoxication you should use the largest straw available. If you only have childrens sized straws available you can use up to 15 at a time!

Only if you're using this straw to shotgun a bottle of beer.

Yes, cause your sucking in less air through a straw than you would if you didn't use a straw.
