Yes. It is true that with a longer shaft, the club head will be moving faster through impact. However, the most important component of distance is making solid contact with the ball, in the center of the club face. Therefore, if the club is so long that you cannot make solid contact, you will actually lose distance.

Absolutely! The longer the shaft the longer the distance. But it's not the only factor. If you want more distance to your shots, take lessons and learn how to swing the club properly. The golf swing is a very athletic move and learning how to do it properly is pinnacle to hitting good shots and enjoying the game.

Shaft length has the potential to alter the distance you can hit a ball. With a longer arc in your swing, there is the potential to get more momentum and hit the ball further. Control is difficult though.

The club shaft length does effect distance in that the longer the shaft, the faster the clubface will be moving at impact with the ball. But the extra distance is not as much as you would expect. The more important thing is to control your ball flight and that is harder with longer shafts.

The longer the club shaft the longer the distance one hits a ball. It's not as easy as it sounds, as longer clubs are harder to hit.
