A garden fence isn't likely to work to keep chipmunks out of the garden. Being members of the squirrel family, they are often climbers. Perhaps the best method of dealing with them is to provide an area in your garden specifically geared to them, to distract them from your plants.

A chipmunk can climb, so a fence would not keep them out, however there is another alternative. Look for a deterrent that is especially formulated for repelling rodents. There is one just for chipmunks in the Shake Away brand.

Chipmunks are masters of tunneling. Fences are useless in keeping them from your garden. If the fence is tightly linked and buried six inches, you MAY deter these destructive creatures.

Garden fences work to keep chimpmunks out if they go deep enough into the soil to be unburrowable, high enough to be impossible to climb, and have no chipmunks sized(or made)holes through them.

No it will not. Chipmunks can fit into very small spaces. They can also dig and tunnel underneath of fences. Some form of rodent control is the best method for eliminating problem chipmunks. You may also research rodent deterrents. Another method is to use rubber snakes or owls. This will work for a while until they get used to it.

A garden fence probably will not keep out chipmunks. Chip munks like squirrels can climb trees and will certainly be able to climb your fence.

A fence doesn't usually work well to keep chipmunks out of a garden. They have the ability to climb over and the know how to dig and go under.
