No, a flash card reader does not help your battery, if you are using a laptop, it will drain your battery faster.

I can't see how a flash card reader could help a battery. The flash card reader has to run on some power source, and if that source is your battery, the charge will decrease. This is assuming that reducing the life of a battery is not considered "helping" the battery.

No, it doesn't. A flash card reader doesn't really have anything to do with your battery. I suppose you could say it hurts your battery because it uses your battery juice to transfer or view what's on the card that's in the reader.
