I leave a tip for every day that the maid cleans the room. I leave the tip at the end of trip. I usually will skip a couple of days of cleaning if the hotel room looks good so I do not pay for those days.

Yes I do. I prefer leaving daily tips over weekly because the maid may change and because it ensures good continuing service. Daily tips are a sign of respect for a job well done.

It is not necessary to leave daily tips; indeed, at a good hotel, the maid will not accept them. While it is customary to leave a tip in the room once you end your visit, daily tipping is not standard.

Yes, you should definitely leave a tip for the maid. They can help you out in many ways other hotel employees cannot. You are at their mercy with towels, your bed, your bathroom, toiletries, etc. You should leave it on the pillow so they know it is for them.

Absolutely yes. If you don't do it daily, the person may not be there to get the tip when you check out.
