Well, you should check out the air filter. Is smoke coming out as well? If it is, you have spray carbon clear to clear the engine.

the 2.8l chevy v6 carburator comes stock so leaning it out might require professional help as yopu may need to disable part of the engine. in the surrounding of the carb there is various pieces that the engine most remain with so be care full when dismantelling your engine. do it safely.
