Yes, when I am in a very deep sleep my dreams are more vivid. After I wake, I feel like I had actually gone to the place in my dream. I can remember more detail from my dream, and some items in my dream have color. I also remember the dream longer, hours into my waking day.

I dream every night during sleep, and yes I have more vivid dreams when I am extremely tired as well as in a deeper sleep mode. Sometimes the dreams are so real until I could hardly forget and thought they are real life events. Anyway, I still love to dream.

Yes. People don't seem to tend to dream when they're not in a deep sleep. The vividness comes from the morning after. You're more likely to remember your dream if you think about it right when you wake up.

The most vivid dreams occur when a person is in their deepest state of REM sleep. REM sleep comes in intervals throughout the night, peaking with the longest stretches of REM right before you wake up. People actually dream very vividly at this stage, even though waking and falling asleep is very common.

No, you don't. You have more vivid dreams and dreams that you actually remember when in the alpha stage of sleep, just going into the REM portion of sleep. When you are in deeper sleep the brain is working to heal the body and energize it for the next day so most people don't dream at all then.
