Only some washers use a belt so it will depend on what year your washing machine was manufactured to know if it uses a belt or not. If you look in your Whirlpool washer manual or call the manufacturer you should be able to obtain this information for them as well.

No, whirlpool washers have been belt-free for about fifteen years. If your washer is older, it may use a belt.
