Do power rods give the same results as free weights?

Answer by  barky (98)

No, working out on a machine with power rods does not provide the same quality workout as free weights do, though, they are an excellent alternative. Free weights give your body a larger range of motion and in essence a more rigoruous workout/strengthening experience. They require the muscles to work harder in order to control the movement of the body

Power rods give an equal amount as resistance to free weights but do not offer the same results. Excercises using power rods will isolate muscle groups and work them individually. Free weights do this, but they require you to stabilize the weights which will work the surrounding muscle groups as well.

Free weights and power rods are very similar. They both yield resistance in the full range of motion when doing an exercise. Having resistance in both directions gives the best results for your muscles in a workout routine. The same results from free weight and power rods should be expected because of the resistance they both provide.

It is diffrent for peopole but for me nothing can bet free weights. With free wieghts soo many of your stabalizer muscles come into play and there real important. Power rods might work as well but they arent better.
