Dogwood leaves will curl when the temperatures are very hot. Giving Dogwoods a slow deep watering and mulching should help retain moisture. Dogwoods will also curl when they have a disease such as Canker which is caused from a trunk fungus. Look for signs of the dogwood twig borer which also causes leaf curling in small sections of the tree.

The most common causes of curling in variegated dogwood leaves are excessive heat and extreme dryness. If a tree is in the direct sun, it should be transplanted to a shady area when dormant. The variegated dogwood's root system should be kept moist. Using an organic mulch will probably help.

Check your leaves right off for stickiness- if so it is that old enemy- APHIDS. You can try washing your leaves with a soapy mixture, but your best friend is ladybugs. You can buy them from a garden center or by mail. Otherwise, you might want to check who has been using herbicides in your neighborhood. That will cause it.

Usually that is a sign of one of two things it is either getting to much direct sun or to little water try doing a net search on them and it will pull a ton of information for you and you will be able to print it all and file it for future reference.

This is usually a sign of a deficiency in one area or another. It may not have been getting proper nutrients or not enough water. I'd bet though that it hasn't gotten enough phosphorous. This is one of the notrients that help build the tree, leaves and branches. The branches are unaffected because they do not regrow each year.

Try properly maintaining your dogwood tree to keep it healthy. Planted where it can receive proper lightening and avoid prolong exposure to moisture. Prune yearly.

These trees enjoy spring like temperatures. Excessive heat may make them curl. This looks unattractive but causes no stress to the tree.

This usually happens during the summer. It's a result of the heat and very dry weather. However, look for brown spots. If the leaves are also developing brown spots it could be a type of disease.
