Is the apartment paid off? If there is still a mortgage on the apartment, it is unlikely it can go to someone with bad credit, unless there's a cosigner.
The best way to do this is to find a highly qualified co-signer that is willing to put their name (and credit) on the line and assume financial liability in event that the individual with poor credit defaults on the lease. This should give the owner of the apartment piece of mine a promise of financial accountability.
I would not see why your credit would matter if you are trying to rent an apartment. A background check would more than likely be the only thing needed.
Depends on where you're living, why your credit is bad, and if you can afford a higher than normal security deposit. Some apartments require a minimum salary, or higher deposit.
The best way is to search the classified for rental apartment that does not require a credit check. Or if your credit is good be the primary person on lease
Find a friend to recommend you. You may have a bad credit but that doesnt mean that you are a bad tenant. Or find someone who knows the landlord a friend or officemate maybe. There are some apartment owners or landlord that doesnt check your credit, if you're lucky you may find some.
