Can you tell me how to gather a dust ruffle?

You can use your gatherer on your sewing machine, or run a long stitch through the material and gather by hand, pin and then sew this on your machine. Dust ruffles are cheaper to buy.

If you're sewing it yourself, use a huge baste stitch and gather it as you would a hem for a fancy dress. Pull one end of the thread and just keep moving that mass of fabric along until you're happy with the placement. Stitch 1/4" as normal, just inside of that to lock in the baste.

Zig-zag over a heavy thread in 3-foot lengths. There is a presser foot for doing this. Hold one end of the heavy thread and pull the other to create ruffles.
