It takes about three days to be clean. Somethings to speed up the process include drinking lots of water, caffeine, and alcohol. Caffeine and alcohol speed up the process, which is why people smoke a lot when they are drinking.

The nicotine can be detected in your body for 48 hours. Why don't you just fess up that you have slipped and ask for help to quit again.

Nicotine only stays in your system for up to 48 hours but when it metabolizes, it creates cotinine, which can stay for up to seven days. Drug tests usually test for both.
