Question by  Mike26 (26)

Can you take the drool glands out of a dog?

Does it hurt the dog?

Why would you want to do this to a animal. This is his makeup. If you wanted to get rid of the drool then you should have gotten another breed.

You technically can, but you shouldn't. Just like with people, salivary glands, where "drool" is formed, serve several important purposes. In dogs it helps keep their mouth clean and helps keep them cool. Removing these glands is not something that should be done. Please speak with your veterinarian if you feel your dog's drooling is unusual. Some dogs drool more than others.
