The exclusions depend on the facility. Send packages after you have spoken to an individual at the facility. In the event of necessary return, post your address on the package.

Generally each prison has its own rules on what can and cannot be sent to the inmates. Dallas has pretty loose restrictions, but Philadelphia is more conservative in what they allow. If you're looking specifically for care packages, there are websites that give you options based on the kail location.

All prisons have specific rules. Most limit books to paperbacks, which must be mailed directly from the bookstore. Most prohibit pornography. Call the prison for details before you mail.
