I would inspect carefully to see what is damaged. You can pick up a used accelerator assembly from a junkyard fairly cheap, just make sure the floor is solid enough in your car to install the new unit.
In most instances a gas pedal is something that is easily replaced. Depending on the type of damage it could probably be fixed or a new assembly could be installed
