Ducks are social birds and should be raised with others of its kind. If zoning allows, the care for ducks require a great amount of space. They need water to swim in, a shelter at night away from predators, and food with much protein.

Sure and certainly one can keep a duck as a pet. However owning a farm perhaps would be best suitable for a duck. Fencing and protection from other wildlife is a must.
