The best way to write original wedding vows is to begin with adjectives. Think about the words that come to mind when you think of your partner. Next think of a specific moment that helped you fall in love. Form your vows around these words and adjectives and you wil have lovely wedding vows.

You should first decide whether you would like a religious ceremony or a non-religious ceremony. Then you should decide if there is a cultural influence you would like to include. There are many examples online that you can pick from. You could include stories of your relationship or poetry.

When I married my husband, we both came up with our own wedding vows. I wrote mine as though I was speaking to him just after we made love - when I would tell him how much I love him, how perfect he is, and how I wished to spend the rest of my life with him. It was unique.

Find a movie or a song that means a lot to both of you. For my Best Friends wedding I took a quote out of a book by Chuck Klosterman about how you can never get over your first love. I used it during the maid of honor speech.
