Can you help me troubleshoot a sewing machine surger?

First, make sure that you have threaded the machine exactly as the instructions specify. Then adjust the tension if needed back to the factory settings. Rethread completely is necessary.

Many times the problem is caused by the serger being threaded improperly. Check that you have threaded it in the right order and that the threads are in the proper places. Also, make sure the needle/s are new and in the proper position for the selected stitch.

Sergers are complicated, I'd say take out your owners manual and read it over thoroughly, step by step. Make sure that the machine is plugged in and that your pedal is hooked up. If you're still confused try stopping in at one of your local hobby shops, Michaels, Hobby Lobby, Joanne Fabrics.
