Donkeys are slow at learning so be patient. The first thing is trust use the right body movements and tone in your voice. Repeat small training commands followed by rewards. Ween him of the treats followed by praises and petting.

disagree. donkeys are not slow at learning. having said that i do agree patience is the key. if a donk does not feel safe you will get nowhere. start with rugging, once accepted then go on to a heavier weight on their back but not til at least 4 years  add a comment

If you are referring to how to tame a donkey and cause it to become domesticated, the most common way is to reward good behavior with treats.

Reverse psychology. Donkey must think it was his idea, not yours. Simple requests, lavish praise, and kind yet firm requests on your part will get the job done. Donkey will NOT try unless they can trust you won't hurt them.

You can break a donkey a couple of ways, one way would be to ride them until they are broken. Another way would be to pack stuff on their back.

Donkeys are slow learners. You need to establish trust, use patience and repetition. Using treats such as carrots is helpful. When introducing say, the halter, rub it along the animal to allow them to get use to the smell and feel before putting it on. Continue with this method.

The first thing is to become his best friend. Don't push or force nothing onto him. Donkeys are not very trustiing when it comes to training. Take your time. Work on one task at a time and be sure to reward him very well. Most of all just be slow and patient.

This can be done much the same way as breaking a horse, only it will take a longer time and a bit more force: repetitive actions, food rewards, and patience.
