Can you give me some clever suggestions for a 40th wedding anniversary party?

My parents are really fun and would enjoy a celebration that's not so conventional.

I say have a old fashion sock hop. Invite your guest to dig out there 50's clothes. Serve mild shakes and hamburgers, french fries and other favorite food from that era. You could make a cake that looks like a jute box. I would have a dj come in and play music that they played on there wedding day.

What a great idea! I would say you could hire a dance instructor to teach everyone at the party how to dance and have your parents perform their own dance for everyone!

As it is the 40th wedding anniversary a Ruby themed party would be cool. (eg Ruby cake, decco, etc.) Or 40 years back means you could do a Eighties's party.

If my parents were celebrating their 40th wedding anniversary I would have it at a club where there is a pool and tennis and all the amenities.
