While this is possible, it is unlikely. More common causes include allergic reactions to something you have eaten or drank, thrush (yeast infection) of the mouth, and herpes simplex virus in the mouth (ranging from cold sores to actual warts). If it causes pain or does not heal on its own, see a doctor.
