Yes, although rare, shingles can appear in the mouth. The virus is present in nerve cells and can travel to any nerve ending in your skin, which includes the mouth. It is important to see a physician immediately for a clear diagnosis. Shingles can be treated with an antiviral drug and corticosteroids. With severe discomfort, painkillers can be prescribed.

Shingles can cause blisters in your mouth, eyes, ears, and all over your body. These blisters are called an outbreak. Stress can be one cause of outbreaks. Shingles is a type of virus that occurs in people who had chicken pox as a child. There are medications and treatments available for the blisters and other serious symptoms.

That is unlikely. It is more likely that you have a cold sore or herpes or a similar virus in your mouth.

It's rare, but you can get shingles in your mouth. They are incredibly painful and usually leave you swollen, tender and exhausted. Without those symptoms, too, the bumps aren't shingles.

While this is possible, it is unlikely. More common causes include allergic reactions to something you have eaten or drank, thrush (yeast infection) of the mouth, and herpes simplex virus in the mouth (ranging from cold sores to actual warts). If it causes pain or does not heal on its own, see a doctor.
