Can prednisone causing taste changes?

Yes prednisone can cause taste changes. This is temporary. Your taste buds will go back to normal after the prednisone is out of your system. The pill itself tastes terrible and maybe one of the reasons your taste changes. Taking it with food seems to help a little. If it is too troublesome contact your Doctor.

Having ones sense of taste change is not a common side effect of prednisone. Common short-term side effects include stomach irritation, headaches and insomnia.

Prednisone is used for inflammatory conditions and carries many serious and less serious side effects such as headaches, nervousness, ulcers, mood changes, fluid retention, muscle weakness, glaucoma, menstrual changes, and easy bruising. However, taste changes are not a commonly reported side effect from predisone.

Yes, it can. Prednisone is a steroid, that has a long history of serious side effects. Taste changes are quite common while taking this drug. it can also alter your sense of smell.

I was taking prednisone when I was pregnant with my first born, I do not experience any changes in my taste, there are some major effects though like on the skin, gaining weight, having a moon face etc.

Yes it can cause changes to your taste. It has also been know to cause a funny coloration of you urine. but the side effect will go away after being off the medicine.

I've been on a tapered prednisone protocol for about 10 days, starting at 50 mg and finishing today with one last 5 mg dose. I have completely lost my sense of taste. My feet and toes feeling like they are standing on a pad of needles even when I'm laying.

I was on it for 4 days and it changed the taste to everything I ate... But was reading about it and its common and it will get better once it leaves your system... Right now things taste like mint... It's gross

I have had a sweet taste in my mouth for 3 months now. I have been on Prednazone for that long.

I did cause me to have a horrible metallic taste in my mouth and my face swelled up like a balloon :-0
