It depends on the size of the dog. If you have a big dog, they can only have 81 milligram aspirin. If you have a small dog, half of that. Or you can give them baby aspirin. Though there is dog aspirin for sale now from catalogs.

According to a vet that I used to go to; when using children's aspirin, you can give your dog half of a pill every 8-10 hours when needed. This is based on a 90lb dog, though.

Yes, but you have to be careful. If you are giving aspirin, it needs to be given with vet supervision and used with caution. Gastrointestinal effects, such as bleeding and ulceration, are very common when dogs take aspirin. Aspirin also interacts with numerous other drugs, so make sure your dogs won't have any bad interactions from it.

Check with your veterinarian before giving your dog too much aspirin but one aspirin should be fine. You don't want to give them too many because the medication is hard on their livers. Check with your vet to find a good alternative.
