Puppies can drink milk. However, full grown dogs, like most mammals, lose the ability to digest lactose (a primary protein in milk) after weaning. It is not advised to give dogs milk or cheese.

no puppies cannot have milk, it can kill them. they cant digest it & it dehydrates them. You should never give a new born or any puppy store bought milk. the only milk they can have is puppy formula at worst baby formula.  add a comment

A little milk now and then isn't too harmful, but it can cause diarrhea. Unlike humans, dogs have not built up a tolerance to lactose in cow's milk and do not produce the enzymes to break it down.

Dogs can drink milk, but should they? No. Dogs are lactose intolerant, which means that if they drink milk they will most likely get a very upset stomach and in some cases could have even more severe consequences.

Actually, dogs can digest milk very well. In India, dogs are regularly given milk, and they digest it just fine. Here, in Canada, a friends dog was given yoghurt when she had an upset stomach, and lapped it up, no side effects.  add a comment

Dogs can drink milk, but they shouldn't. It is bad for their intestinal system, and will either bind them up or give them diarrhea. Many dogs end up at the vet because of this.
