It is plausible but, not likley that an Ultrasound could have this effect. First, Most human beings are not subjected to Ultrasound on a regular basis and secondly, If this was the case there would be a higher percentage of utlrasound techincians with hearing loss.

Ultrasound cannot really affect human hearing since it doesn't use high frequency decibels. It uses sonar which are quiet sound waves that detect objects by bouncing off their surface making their shape and size visible to the human eye. This was firstly used by ships and boats to know where the fish or other boats are.

Ultrasound does not effect hearing as the frequency is well above the hearing threshold for the ears. Also, you rarely use it anywhere near the head.

Ultrasound will not effect your hearing as it uses frequencies above what your chochlear apparatus can pick up. It is a very safe machine.

Two common types of ultrasound are that used to visualize internally and therapeutic ultrasound for pain. Both use very low frequency soundwaves and penetrate the body in a very defined area. Neither can have any effect on hearing unless the soundhead is held or passed over, the ear.
