Can an ultrasound determine the cause of foot swelling?

i don't want to pay for an ultrasound if it can't determine the cause of my foot swelling.

It could determine whether there is a broken bone inside the foot or dislocated tendon. It could identify whether there is a foreign object or cyst causing spelling.

yes ultrasound can very well determine the cause of foot swelling because ultrasound detects everything minutely. So go for a ultrasound and everything can be known. Dont worry that you have to pay because it is very important to find the cause of disease. Go for it as foot swelling could be serious.

It depends upon the cause of the swelling. For some things (particularly blockages), an ultrasound can pinpoint the cause of the swelling. If nothing else, it will rule out these problems as a possibility. If you doctor recommends having it done, you should do so.
