It all depends on the kind of tropical fish. If its a freshwater fish, then it should be fine (Unless its a carnivore). If the tropical fish is a saltwater fish then depending on what you do with the water will kill one or the other. But for the most part, goldfish are fine in most freshwater tanks.
Goldfish and tropical fish sometimes require different water temperatures in order to survive, but there are some tropical fish than can live safely with goldfish.
This is a simple matter of salt water vs fresh water. Goldfish live in fresh water and tropical fish live in salt water. Goldfish will die in salt water and tropical fish die in fresh water.
Typically no. Tropical fish tend to be saltwater fish and freshwater goldfish cannot live in their salty water. Also tropical fish can be aggressive and may eat the goldfish even it it is bigger then them.
Yes they can, but should they, no. They have different temperature, tank size, and diet requirements. ALso, they can get big, any fish will eat what fits in it mouth.
Yes you can have them in the same tank as long as the other fish are not aggessive because they will kill the goldfish. Plus you are going to want to change the water alot because goldfish produce alot of amonia and that will kill off your tropical fish that you have.
It's not recommended to mix goldfish with tropical fish. Goldfish like their water cooler. Also goldfish sometimes carry diseases that the tropical fish can get.
If the tropical fish requires fresh water, if it is approaching or bigger than the gold fish and is known to be a mild mannered species then you should be fine.
