yes a chapter 7 bankruptcy can stay on your credit anywhere between 7 and 10 years, once it becomes 10 years and if its still on your credit you should contact the credit reporting agenies to have it removed.

Bankruptcy will stay on your Credit Report for TEN years. However, there are things that can raise your credit score. If you do things like get a secured credit card and pay all of your bills like rent and utilities on time it will help to get some of that credit back.
